The Air Jordan 1 High OG "Reverse Shattered Backboard" released in 2016 as a follow-up to the original colorway concept. The Jordan 1 was inspired by the colorway of the uniform worn by Michael Jordan during an exhibition game in Italy in 1985, during which Jordan shattered the plexiglass backboard after a dunk. The black, orange, and white colorway first appeared on the 2015 Air Jordan 1 "Shattered Backboard" and has since returned for this second "Reverse Shattered Backboard" iteration, featuring more orange and less black on the leather panels. This colorway is also known as the "Shattered Backboard Away." Like the original, the Air Jordan 1 High OG "Reverse Shattered Backboard" has become one of the most coveted releases in the model's history.
