Historically, NIKE, Inc. has limited its Air Jordan 1 experiments to either mid-top or low-top styles. However, North America has recently seen some questionable adaptations of Michael Jordan's first signature sneaker, the "Zoom CMFT," while Zion Williamson's latest, the "Bayou Boys," arrives dressed in faux crocodile skin and faded denim panels. First images of the pair feature "Zoom Air" branding on the tongue, suggesting the upcoming retro will feature the revamped full-length cushioning first introduced in December 2019 through the "Fearless Ones" collection. A "glow-in-the-dark" green animates the aforementioned branding and exposed foam across the bootie-like collar. Elsewhere, overlays from the forefoot to the heel feature a rich purple hue as well as reptilian scale detailing. It's also sometimes called the "cliff edge," and whether it's "cliff edge" or not, it's definitely "cliff edge." Like every other Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT we've seen, the profile swooshes have been cut off and the wing insignia on the ankle flap has been reduced in size. So, this is a very bold statement piece.
